Christmas, Chefs and Kitchens: Being Prepared is the Key to Success.

Christmas, a time of customs, celebration, and of course cooking!
Christmas Day should be enjoyed by everyone, including you – the chef, but if you’re not careful, stress can take over and you will lose your enjoyment of cooking. If you want to cook the perfect Christmas meal with all the trimmings, there’s one essential ingredient – being prepared!
Start now! Draw up menus, being organized is the key to efficiency! Familiarising yourself with the recipes means you are less likely not to miss a vital ingredient, or realise you are understaffed for the numbers you are cooking for.
Draw up your ingredients list into perishable and non-perishable goods and buy the non-perishable well in advance so you can tick those off. Order specialist goods in plenty of time and perishable goods do not need to be bought on Christmas Eve!
Work out a time plan for the day. This will organize the mind and prioritise. Now, delegate! You may feel you can take on the world (and no doubt you can) but peeling potatoes, chopping onions and slicing courgettes won’t detract from the main event!
And most importantly, relish in the fact you are providing many-a-happy customer with your delicious cooking, many of whom I am sure would welcome the opportunity to thank you in person – go out there and soak up the praise!
Merry Christmas!
